Daylesford District Mobile Broadband

With an “off-grid” property in the country you have to be mindful of the power usage for all your electronic equipment. Still, even though you are “off-grid” communication with the rest of the world is important. When satellite communications no longer work, you call in the experts Essential Communications Services.

At this home, our client had previously had NBN Satellite services but, as with almost everyone these days, the satellite service was not stable enough for them to be able to conduct Zoom meetings or home school for the children, or at least not at the same time.

Our client contacted us via recommendation to come to site to investigate whether Mobile Broadband would be possible. As this site has a direct line of site to one of the taller towers in the area, mobile broadband was lightning fast.

The construction of the home was corrugated metal, so the home was in itself not allowing usable signal to be accessed within the dwelling. To solve this, we mounted a two metre mast to the roof and installed a Telco XPOL MIMO 3G+4G+4GX Panel Antenna – 700-2700 MHz.

With the distance to the best tower at only three kilometres, super low loss LCU400 coaxial cabling was used to send the signal to a Telco X1 Pro Modem Router connected to the Optus Mobile Broadband network.

As WiFi was also required, Essential Communications Services supplied Cambium cnPilot E430H WiFi Access Points for full WiFi coverage throughout the house.

As ever, we are grateful to our wonderful suppliers Telco Antennas and City Technology for the supply of this equipment.

If you have a communications & telecommunications infrastructure challenge please do not hesitate to get in touch with Essential Communications Services, it would be our pleasure to be of assistance to you anywhere in Australia.
