Notting Hill 5G Mobile Broadband

There are often as many challenges in metropolitan areas as in rural and remote regions. Essential Communications Services can assist in both.

This particular installation is to facilitate the fast-paced environment of a major government infrastructure project. The client, as this is to be a two-year temporary office for their civil engineers, needed both speed and stability of mobile broadband internet for them to be able to access their off-site servers holding the project plans as well as other information pertaining to the project.

As there was no way to access the roof to install the Panorama 4×4 Mimo 3G, 4G & 5G Directional Panel Antenna safely, Essential Communications Services hired an 80ft Knuckle Reach Boom Lift through the access hire team at Allcott Hire to ensure safe installation of the mast, antenna and cabling to the building. Our team leads all have their WorkSafe tickets for this type of equipment and we ensure that they are all up-to-date with their training for their own safety as well as the safety of our clients.

Once we were able to reach the roofline using the boom lift, our lead tech scoped out the best position for the mast, choosing to mount it close to the edge of the roof as it gave the best access to the internal wall as well as the best view to the 4G / 5G Telstra tower.

After mounting the mast and setting the antenna, we dropped the 4 x LCU400 Coaxial Cable through the roof, running it down the wall inside box conduit, for neatness sake.

Being that this was a concrete building and we had to drill through approximately 20cm of wall to access the office space, we hired a Hilty Concrete Drill from the team at Kennards Hire. With this, we were able to get through the wall without issue.

Using LCU195 Coaxial Cable, we pushed through the wall to the top of a filing cabinet near the lead engineers’ desk. The client were providing their own router and WiFi, so we ran the ethernet cabling to the centre of the ceiling for their IT department to install their access points.

If you have a communications & telecommunications infrastructure challenge please do not hesitate to get in touch with Essential Communications Services, it would be our pleasure to be of assistance to you anywhere in Australia.
