Outer Eastern Melbourne Mobile Voice

In some areas of outer Melbourne, mobile voice coverage is as inaccessible as coverage in the middle of the Simpson Desert.

Essential Communications Services was tasked to provide Telstra Mobile Voice coverage to a premises east of Melbourne, less than 5km from the local tower, but, due to the location of the home, coverage was patchy at best.

To ensure reliable, stable Telstra mobile voice within the premises Essential Communications Services needed to mount a 3 metre galvanized roof mounted mast to the roof of the premises. Because of the height of the premises, a two & a half story building, a 60ft boom lift had to be brought in to be able to reach the roof.

Atop the mast we have installed an RFI Wideband 8-12dBi 3G+4G+4GX LPDA Antenna – 700-3800MHz. As the tower was fairly close we were able to use LCU400 Coaxial Cable to come down to the Nextivity Telstra Cel-fi Go.

This was then cabled to and signal distributed throughout the house via a SureCall DAS Omni Directional Ceiling Mount Antenna (low profile), for both aesthetics as well as limited ceiling access.

This client was also interested in Mobile Voice coverage for his car and caravan as he and his family were taking a trip around Australia. For this, we supplied the Nextivity Cel-fi Go MOBILE unit with an RFI CDQ7195 4WD 3G+4G+4GX Mobile Antenna for his vehicle and another RFI Wideband 8-12dBi 3G+4G+4GX LPDA Antenna – 700-3800MHz for the caravan.

As ever, we are grateful to our wonderful suppliers Telco Antennas for the supply of this equipment.

If you have a communications & telecommunications infrastructure challenge please do not hesitate to get in touch with Essential Communications Services, it would be our pleasure to be of assistance to you anywhere in Australia.
